Coding Class for Kids

A relaxed introduction to coding for primary-age children, building simple games and animations while learning how computers follow instructions.

Coding Class is for primary-age children and does not follow an exam syllabus. Children build small games, animations and puzzles, starting with block-based tools and moving towards typing real code as they are ready.

Each session sets a small project with a clear goal, so children see something they have made by the end of the hour. They learn to break a problem into steps, test what they have built, and fix it when it does not work — the thinking behind all programming.

It suits children who are curious about how games and apps are made, and it gives those who later take GCSE computer science a head start. No experience is needed, and children work at their own pace.
